What is an A-Pillar?
An A-pillar in an automobile is the vertical support structure that runs from the front edge of the car’s roof (near the windshield) down to the front of the vehicle where the door hinges are located.
It plays a crucial role in supporting the roof and providing structural integrity to the vehicle’s cabin. A-pillars are typically located on both sides of the windshield and are integral parts of the vehicle’s overall safety design, especially in terms of protecting occupants during collisions.
