What people say about us

Rated 5 out of 5
I got stuck at a gas station. Unexpectedly after filling gas, my car wouldn’t restart. Thankfully this good Samaritan happened to be filling gas as well and without hesitation jumped in and started trying many different things to figure out exactly what the issue was. He definitely went above and beyond using multiple portable jump starters and even pulled his car around to give it a good old fashioned jump start if those options didn’t work. Thankfully we were eventually able to get it started.

Yet another 5 star review. Tech was knowledgeable, polite and proficient. Competitively priced. Glad I called this outfit as opposed to the roadside service affiliated with my insurance company which is fine for a jump start or gasoline delivery. After scanning the Google reviews I got the impression that a tire change was their specialty and they delivered.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

What is a mobile mechanic service?

A mobile mechanic service brings professional automotive repair and maintenance directly to your location. Whether you’re at home, work, or on the road, our certified mechanics come equipped with the tools and expertise to perform a wide range of services on-site.

What types of services do you offer?

Our mobile mechanics handle a wide range of repairs and maintenance directly at your location:

Electrical & Starting Systems

  • Battery replacement (flooded, AGM, EFB, lithium)
  • Alternator and starter diagnosis & replacement
  • Check engine light diagnostics (OBD-II scan)
  • Fuse, relay, and sensor replacement

Brake Services

  • Brake pad replacement (front and rear)
  • Rotor and drum resurfacing or replacement
  • Brake fluid flush

Routine Maintenance

  • Oil & filter change
  • Air filter replacement (engine and cabin)
  • Spark plug replacement
  • Serpentine belt and tensioner replacement
  • Coolant, transmission fluid, and power steering flush

Emergency Roadside

  • Jump start + battery/alternator load test
  • Flat tire / spare tire mounting
  • Overheating triage and coolant top-off

Some repairs require a shop environment (transmission rebuilds, major engine work, frame repairs). We’ll always be upfront if a repair is beyond mobile scope.

How long does a typical service take?

Service duration depends on the repair. Here are typical timeframes once our technician arrives:

  • Battery replacement — 20–45 minutes
  • Oil change — 20–30 minutes
  • Brake pad replacement (one axle) — 45–75 minutes
  • Spark plug replacement (4-cylinder) — 30–60 minutes
  • Alternator replacement — 60–120 minutes depending on vehicle
  • Serpentine belt replacement — 30–60 minutes
  • Check engine light diagnostic — 20–40 minutes

Our average arrival time across New Jersey is 15–35 minutes. For scheduled appointments, we provide a precise arrival window. For emergency calls, we dispatch the nearest available technician immediately.

Is a mobile mechanic service more expensive than a traditional repair shop?

In most cases, our pricing is comparable to or less than a traditional repair shop — and you save on towing fees, which in New Jersey can run $100–$250 for a local tow.

Cost comparison example — battery replacement:

OptionBattery CostLabor/TowTotal
Dealership (towed)$180–$350$150–$250 tow + $80 labor$410–$680
Auto parts store (DIY)$120–$250Your time + tow to get thereVaries
Neighborhood Roadside (mobile)$150–$280Included — we come to you$150–$280

We provide upfront pricing before any work begins. No surprise fees, no shop markup on unnecessary services.

Can you perform all types of repairs on-site?

Most common repairs and maintenance can be done on-site. Our vans are stocked with tools, diagnostic equipment, and commonly needed parts.

Repairs well-suited for mobile service: battery replacement, oil changes, brake pads/rotors, spark plugs, belts, filters, alternators, starters, fuses, sensors, and jump starts.

Repairs that typically require a shop: transmission rebuilds, engine overhauls, suspension alignment (requires an alignment rack), A/C recharge (requires recovery equipment), frame or structural repairs, and glass replacement.

If you describe your issue and we determine it’s beyond mobile scope, we’ll tell you upfront — and can help coordinate next steps rather than leaving you stranded. When in doubt, call and describe the problem. We’ll give you an honest answer about whether we can help on-site.

What if my car needs a part that isn’t on hand?

If a specific part is not available at the time of your service, we will arrange to acquire the necessary part as quickly as possible and schedule a follow-up appointment to complete the repair.

How do I schedule a mobile mechanic appointment?

You can easily schedule an appointment by calling us or filling out our online booking form. Simply provide your vehicle’s information, your location, and the service you need, and we’ll coordinate the rest.

Do I need to provide any tools or equipment?

No, our mobile mechanics come fully equipped with all the tools and parts needed to complete the job. You don’t need to worry about supplying anything.
